About Kristen

My Story

From the time she could toddle around, Kristen was tying knots that were next to impossible to untie. Those knots would later connect all sorts of things together into a looooong western train that wound all over the house. At the ripe old age of 2 years old, she fell into a deep love for horses to which her parents couldn’t understand as there were no horses around. Surely, this was a phase that would go away? Nope. Over the years the horse passion grew stronger and took with it a love for all things old fashioned, western days of old, and cowboys, which then culminated into writing novels.

Personal Life

Kristen stays busy with church, family, and caring for horses for different people. In her free time, and any minute she can squeeze in, she is busy writing, editing, or researching for her next novel. Her family is very important to her, so she does make it a priority to spend time with them, which includes her weekly coffee and western watching date she and her dad have each Saturday morning. She is always eager to learn old fashioned skills and will excitedly share any and all horse facts and knowledge she has with anyone willing to listen.

Kristen is diligent

Kristen will rewrite the story multiple times until it is just perfect. For her, it’s not about getting as many novels turned out as possible, it’s about the story and delivering a novel that all will enjoy.

"A mistake constantly made by those who should know better is to judge people of the past by our standards rather than their own. The only way men or women can be judged is against the canvas of their own time."

From a reader

“I love reading Kristen Cora’s book! Her stories are thought provoking, adventurous, and suspenseful-not to mention clean, which is becoming hard to find. She obviously spends a lot of time researching the details in her stories, which brings them to life. I can’t wait to see what her next book is about!”

From a fellow author

"What does Buck, a young rancher in 1868 Montana (Territory) have in common with a wounded stranger, who arrives near death at Buck's front gate one evening? This question hooks the reader right from the start in Outlaw Trail. From there, the plot races along as Buck learns more about Stacie, the stranger with a secret. Later, the two cowboys undertake a miles-long journey to Arizona (Territory) on Stacie's behalf. Twists and turns abound, leading to the biggest twist of all! If you like westerns, Outlaw Trail will satisfy you with high action and realistic western settings and events."
